Originally found in Ireland, these peaceful fairies quickly became popular among the locals. As the fairies grew to know the humans, they allowed them to visit their own villages. They began to trust the humans. When it became common knowledge that these fairies produced a pixie dust that could heal almost anything, the humans wanted it. They wanted this pixie dust - but to have it, they had to have the fairies. Fairy hunters were hired to raid the village that they lived in. Hundreds were killed or caught, but some escaped. Those few fled, and spread out among the world to stay safe. Over years their numbers grew once more, and they started their villages up again, but this time instead of only one court of Sochánta Fairies, there were now five.
The pixie dust of these fairies is made from their wings, and sprinkles about whenever they fly. Due to its healing and caring nature, the pixie dust heals both internally and externally, sicknesses and wounds. Wherever the court is the land around will be incredibly lush and beautiful due to the faes flying around and sprinkling the ground. A typical fairy has pixie dust that grows and sparkles in the sun, and glows at night. Their pixie dust can vary in coloration, but it usually a radiant shade.
Life Span: 600 to 700 years.
Top Speed: 15 mph
Typical Height: 2 to 5 inches
Personality: These fairies are sweet, loving, and caring creatures. They are extremely energetic, and sometimes like to bounce around more than they should. Being very passive, they would rather forgive and forget than dwell on the past, but they learn from what has happened. They are very peaceful, and sometimes innocently naive.
Environment/Housing: These little faes make their homes in trees they hollow out, fallen logs, little hand made tree houses, or they make their own homes from small rocks. Since they are good at carving and building, they typically have a fully functional home that they live in. And, due to their social nature, Sochánta fairies are known to create villages - or courts - in the forests, hidden from humans. They feel safer in courts, and love to have friends near by.
Clothing: With both nimble fingers and bodies, these fairies make their own clothes. Clothing is usually made from leaves, grass, flower pedals, or animal fur. Most fairies do no wear shoes.
Diet: Being herbivores, Sochánta fairies do not eat meat. They eat berries, fruit, leaves, or veggies.
Appearance
Ears: Elf styled - link -
Hair: Can be any color, but resembles some kind of flower (pastels) or matches their wings.
Skin: Typically a natural colored skin, but some cases have seen green or purple skinned fairies. Their skin glows at night (the same color as their wings or white), and they are often mistaken for 'fire flies'.
Wings: At the ends, their wings look torn, but are not. If damaged, their wings take a long time to heal properly. If their wings get ripped off, they take at least two years to grow back.
Bone Structure: Like a bird, their bones are hollow to make flight easier. Unlike other fairies, their wings are connected by bone. A ball and socket joint like a shoulder connects the shoulder blade and the wings together. This causes excruciating pain when the wings are ripped off.
