The Volvay
The Body...
~ A Volvay weighs almost nothing. Their ribs and most bones can be seen obviously through their pelt.
If they get wet, they look like a walking corpse.
A baby Volvay (Between 1 week-2 years) weights up to 2 pounds.
A teen Volvay (Between 2-5 years) weighs up to 3 pounds.
Past that, they stay between 6 to 7 pounds in weight.
They stay this small since they have an overactive metabolism and hate to be sitting still.
~ Tiny paws is what a Volvay has.
The claws on a Volvay's feet are retractable, like a felines. Claws can get up to an inch long, and very thick.
The Longer the claws, the more aggravating they are for the Volvay, making them chew on their feet a lot.
The claws' tip is very sharp.
In some Volvays, poison does inject from the claws, but this is something that pops up rarely in the Volvay.
~ This creature's legs are very skinny, and long. The Volvay is a very fast little creature.
Their long, skinny legs look very fragile and snap-able. On the contrary; a Volvay has very strong bones that
can withstand more than a normal wolf's bones.
~ A Volvay has a hyena-like, sickle tail. This tail tends to bob about a lot,
~ Have you ever imagined eyes with no color? No pupil? Not even a reflection or a shine to them?
The eyes of a soulless demon are held by this insane little creature. As said on the introduction page,
the Volvay is born blind for two weeks. This doesn't usually bother the Volvay as it instinctively knows
that its sight will come soon. The sight of the Volvay is amazing. They can see details even more detailed than the
average eye, and can see the slightest ruffle of hair on another creature if a bug is hiding in their pelt.
Amazingly, the Volvay cannot be blind. In its genetics, if the Volvay is to be born blind naturally, it would go insane
and kill itself, or the Volvay's brain would shut down from the lack of sight. Volvay's need their vision for at least a
day after the time of their sight coming in. The Volvay can be blinded by other creatures.
Does the Volvay cry?
Indeed it does. Though, the Volvay does not have tears. A Volvay will cry its own blood instead of normal tears.
With their blood being orange, this freaks many out.
~ The Volvay has very large ears. These large, sharply pointed ears tend to get infected easily. Baby Volvays tend to
get infections the most. They do not know they have to clean their ears a lot. The tongue of the Volvay assists in
cleaning the ears, a reason to why the Volvay's saliva easily kills germs and works great on infections.
The ears can pick up sounds easily, and are highly sensitive. Any high pitched sound could send the Volvay into withering
agony. Yelling at a Volvay sends them into a very submissive state, them panicking on the inside from the loud sounds. This is
the best way to tame a Volvay, or scare one off if its angry or about to attack.
~ A Volvay tends to have a short, tiny snout. This gives them a 'puppy' looks and makes them seem perfectly harmless.
How could such tiny jaws be a threat?
You're testing your luck when you underestimate these tiny jaws.
A Volvay have poison filled teeth. The two fangs, which hold razors around the edges to aid in easily ripping flesh, is where the
most poison in the Volvay's teeth are. All the other razored teeth don't have as much poison, but they still have it. A Volvay has
ten teeth on each side of their mouth on the roof and on the bottom.
That totals twenty teeth for the right and twenty for the left. In between the two larger frontal fangs are five teeth, both on the
top and bottom.
~ The tongue is VERY important to a Volvay. This appendage grooms their body and others, and helps in their feeding.
The tongue is about 1 to 2 feet in length. It is green like grass, and skinny like a snake's tongue. It is also forked at the
tip. The Volvay can hiss, and sometimes will flicker its tongue about like a snake would.
~ All Volvays have a white mane. Something in the genetics does not allow for color in the Volvay's mane. There's nothing
much to this, it's just always white. In some cases, there may be some silver streaks through the mane.
~ A Volvay's poison...something not to mess with. This poison is highly toxic, and slowly kills while putting the victim in pure
agony.
~ Once in the system, a Volvay's poison gets to work on eating away at the nerves. This nerve damage is permanent, because
the poison literally eats away at the nerves until they're nothing. On top of this, the poison eats away at the flesh and bone
like acid, making a sizzling sound.
~ Along with being a slow killing poison, there's literally only one cure.
The only way to stop a Volvay's poison from killing someone, or you, is to get their blood. Soaking the infected wound with the
Volvay's orange blood and letting the blood soak into the skin and flesh is the only way to stop the poison from fully eating away
one's limbs and vital organs and destroying nerves like it was nothing.
~ The poison only works when it enters the body. Other than that, it is pretty much harmless.
Volvay's use their poison for grooming purposes. The poison kills germs and cleans pelts, only leaving behind the black,
poisonous saliva. A Volvay loves grooming other people, and is a huge sigh of affection towards others.
The poison is black, which is the reason why their saliva is black.
~ A Volvay is usually up and about, unable to stay still for long periods of time unless grooming someone or cuddling into someone's
fur or even hiding. Most of a Volvay's behavior comes from the mood they're in.
~ For some Volvays, it's hard to anger them. For others, which isn't common, they're easy to anger.
When angered, a Volvay tends to haunch up their bony structure, bare their fangs, and drool more than normal. They make a
weird gurgling noise by opening their jaws, pulling their tongue into their jaws and down their throat to upset their stomach acid
to make it sizzle and gurgle. If provoked even more, a Volvay will snap at whom angered them, or even whomever is trying to stop
them. If threatened more, they will bite and inject as much poison as possible.
The Volvay only will heal the victim if they feel like they should, or their master commands it.
~ Sadness is rare for a Volvay to encounter. Their weird mindset makes it so most things one would be upset do not upset them.
Though, certain things do get under their skin and make them upset.
When sadness arises, a Volvay seeks comfort from anyone anywhere. They cower to the ground, usually creeping to the chosen
target, and cuddling into their fur for comfort and sanctuary.
~ Volvays tend to get frightened very easily, but mainly by loud sounds. Looks from an intimidating animal or the snarls or growls
they make. When trying to scare off a Volvay, most make the mistake of trying to intimidate them.
Anyways, when a Volvay is scared, they cower. He, or she, will get as low to the ground as they can and drop their ears down
to the sides of their head limply. while staring up at the one whom frightened them with 'puppy eyes', pleading for forgiveness or
safety.
~ A Volvay is very out-going. These small creatures love to socialize with anyone, anywhere. They care not of appearance, and
love to cuddle up against someone, groom a random animal's fur, or even cling to someone's side for a quick ride.
~ These creatures tend to never know their parents, or even if they have any family at all.
Volvays tend to never find love, because they rarely ever find another Volvay, especially one of the opposite sex. Though, if they
were to find such a relation ship and have baby Volvays, things would be interesting. A family of Volvays would be very close knit,
and very protective over one another in certain circumstances.
~ Volvays tend to be a pet to somebody due to their personality and size. This creature actually loves to be a pet, with someone to
call their master. They become very protective over their master when needed, and love to obey their master at all costs, unless in
dire need to break the rules.
A Volvay, once bonded with their master, becomes their pet until their master dies. When this happens, a Volvay becomes heart
broken and mourns their master's death for a long time. A Volvay tends to stay at the late master's grave, or body, guarding. The
closer the bond between the master and pet, the long the little creature will mourn their death.
Sometimes, the Volvay will even kill itself if it becomes that upset. If the master had a child, they would become latched to the oldest
child and become their pet. It's like a chain.
