Fidelis Lamia
There is no 'first recording' of these vampires. They're silent, deadly killers who know how to disappear when they're threatened. Most believe they were alive even before the cavemen, as demons walking among the dinosaurs; yet with no evidence to prove such, no one will know. What is known, is that these vampires are a rare thing to come across. Both from their distaste of turning humans, and their lacking of numbers now. These creatures used to hail over multiple of species of vampire, proving their own species power and control, and their deadly strength in numbers and both alone. A lone Fidelis without his/her tribe is dangerous, as they have nothing to help control them. A lone Fidelis is a threat to even the other Fidelis.
ABOUT THE FIDELIS
The Fidelis are immortal beings, with their blood replaced by acid-like-venom. This venom, depending on the intentions of the Fidelis using it, can either slowly eat a mortal alive, or turn them into a Fidelis them self. When being turned, the victim experiences excruciating agony as the venom eats away at the blood to purge the body of it. The victim will often be throwing up blood for days to purge their system of the mortal liquid as the venom naturally swims through the toughening veins. The heart helps pump the venom for the first few years. When they hit the age of twenty one, they have ti rip the heart out so the new one can grow in its place. This act is a very sacred ceremony for both tribes, and happens under the - you guessed it - full moon. After the ceremony, the 'new fang' as the Fidelis call them, will be in agony for the next three weeks as their new heart grows. They can't eat, meditate, or move.
These vampires, once turned, loose the ability to sleep like many others. Instead, they have to go into a state of meditation to regain energy from the earth and air around them. Only rarely does a Fidelis get the advantage of being able to suck the life force from a mortal. So, they must meditate like a normal human would, except they typically do this during the day. When entering this state, the Fidelis becomes vulnerable, so they tend to chose a place they deem safe for them to slip into this state of being. They fall into a deep trance, but this trance, depending on the vampire and how tired they are, can either be easily broken, or hard to break.
The Fidelis Lamia has dual fangs (- link -), which the inner fangs are the ones that hold the venom. The outer fangs are used for feeding. At first the fangs are tricky to learn how to use, but as one ages, they learn how to control both the venom and the feeding.
The Fidelis that come from the Ferrin tribe usually feed off of humans, and have a larger blood lust. Those from the Ynoles tribe usually feed off animals, and try to avoid eating human blood at all times. Rogue Fidelis typically feed off whatever they can find, but the mix of blood sometimes has negative effects on the sanity of them. Some do this on purpose as they deny what they are, others do it on purpose because they like the rush their venom gets from the mixing meals.
The Fidelis keep a normal human eye color, along with a bloody red color that comes from negative emotions and hunger. The Ferrin are always seen with blood red eyes, and typically start to break when their old eye color starts to comes back because those old emotions start to come back, and remind them of who they used to be before becoming a 'monster'. The Ynoles tribe are seen with their normal eye color, which sometimes makes it hard for the humans to realize they're a vampire until they show their teeth, become angry, or get hungry.
The older the Fidelis, the more one better watch their back. These beings get stronger with age and experience, especially the ones that don't mind targeting other vampires (mostly the Ferrin). With age, their blood intake increases if they can't control themselves. This issue typically occurs with rogues, and they become increasingly dangerous. Some rogue Fidelis struggle between going out of control and keeping control. Ferrin run-aways typically have it harder, as one being too angered is known to slaughter hundreds of people until they become exhausted and fall into their meditation trance for weeks after running away again.
TRIBAL LIFE
When it comes to living in groups, the Fidelis are very traditional and still consider themselves a tribe. Their leader - the Sires - are considered the most divine of their species, the oldest. Once in one of the two tribes, a Fidelis can't simply just leave. Leaving a tribe is a break of loyalty and is an act of treason no matter the reason of leaving; same goes for changing tribes. The tribe is considered your family, and no outside source is to be held any higher than you hold your tribe. It's "tribe over all" or die in most cases, especially in the Ferrin tribe. The Ynoles are more laid back and caring of what happens to their members. The tribes are very traditional, and live in mountains far from one another in secrecy.
If a member of one tribe is to leave and go to the other, the left tribe becomes angered. It's the greatest betrayal of a member to switch tribes. A Ferrin going to the Ynoles is instantly wanted dead by the Sires. A Ynoles member going to the Ferrin is considered a traitor and will be killed is on the Ynoles territory, but otherwise left alone. The Ferrin are more violent when it comes to this, and will slowly plot their revenge to kill the traitor. The Ynoles gladly accept anyone and help them overcome the anger that has been embedded in their brain. The Ferrin gladly accept anyone and push away those emotions they're scared of to help them become a true beast.

They are incredible territorial, and sometimes don't know when to back down. They're vicious, and will gladly rip into anyone who dares to oppose them. Though they seem reckless, they carefully place their feet in a steady manner, and know exactly when to make their move. Their personalities are usually fueled by anger to avoid the emotions they are now scared of, emotions they even miss but refuse to feel. | Sires: Helari [2,692], Triver [4,352], Joslyn [2,432] Tribal Branding: A fox on the left shoulder Other Ranks of the Tribe Trainer Hunter Medic Shaman Tribe Personality Calm and understanding, there is a better chance of survival with this tribe of Fidelis. These vampires are typically more accepting of their 'family life', and the tribe is known to have 'rescued' some Ferrin members from the prosecution of their own tribe in order to save their own species. Despite their outer appearance, it would not be wise to anger these Fidelis vampires. They are known for their patience, but when provoked, they can and will be just as dangerous as their Ferrin counterparts. |
ABILITIES/POWERS
Power for the Fidelis typically come when a newborn is hitting the age of 16 or 17. If one is to turn a human that's past the age of 21, they will not get any power, and will be weaker due to their body's older state, which is why a Fidelis won't change anyone who's over the age of 19. A Fidelis' body can only handle two powers, any more will slowly tear them apart and kill them. To save them of that agony, if a Fidelis is found with more than two powers, they are given the 'Reduction' Ceremony; in other words, they're killed. It takes around a hundred years for them to master their ability completely, and beyond that.. it only gets stronger for the Fidelis.
